I post new music discoveries as I find them in single posts, then do a week review on Fridays – this might be the newsletter, if I ever send a newsletter. If you want to hear a couple tracks from each of these, I’ve made you a mixtape in Apple Music and Spotify.
If you’re going to give one thing here a spin, make it Warburton. The EP came out last Friday and I think it’s already got a spot in my year-end list. The songs are excruciatingly sad and beautiful. It’s like The National, I guess, though I’m not a big fan of The National.
No bad options below though. Check ’em out and if you have anything to say, please do. I’ll be over here listening to the new English Teacher album.

Palindrones – Chapter One: With Fearful Velocity
London
Like Burial remixing stuff from the last CHVRCHES album. Moody and atmospheric electronic music with a strong DIY aesthetic.

Warburton – Sad Songs for Happy People
Toronto
It sure is titled accurately. This EP should come with a content warning.
