Witch Post – Rust / Chill Out

Dylan Fraser and Alaska Reid are each accomplished artists on their own, but as Witch Post, they might be onto something stunning.

This’ll be short, because there’s only two songs out so far. I’ve played “Rust” so much in the past couple weeks I have to post it. Dylan Fraser and Alaska Reid are both accomplished solo performers, and formed Witch Post last year, releasing two songs so far. “Rust” has been on repeat since first listen. The vocals from Reid and Fraser are very different and perfectly matched. Fraser’s casual, weary-sounding delivery sounds almost casual, while Reid’s voice is pitch-perfect and polished. The vague lyrics about ‘beauty in the rust’ pull me in every time.

That’s their second song as Witch Post. Their first release, “Chill Out”, is a perfect 90s alt-rock vibe:

Their voices complement each other well. Both Reid and Fraser’s solo stuff is worth digging into if you like the above. Especially “Big Bunny”:

In interviews they hint at a lot more to come in 2025, and I imagine you haven’t seen the last of Witch Post on this website.
