In Gothamist, Veronica de Souza had her iPhone stolen and documents the thieves’ efforts to get her to unlock it for them. A couple of these interactions might have made me nervous, but apparently not her:

I received a series of texts from someone cycling through a number of different strategies for engaging, convincing, tricking or scaring me into unlocking the phone for them.

Rather than being engaged, convinced, tricked or scared, however, I was delighted. The experience managed to combine the internet’s promises of international communion and international crime.
