What we Know About the Effects of Remote Work


Interesting summary of current data in the NYT. It’s about a lot more than ‘productivity’ (and however that’s defined. This article includes a few things that I wouldn’t have considered:

Working mothers have generally benefited from the flexibility of being able to work remotely — more of them were able to stay in the work force. But remote work also seems to bring some steep penalties when it comes to career advancement for women.

I haven’t worked in an office since 2017, and I moved from downtown Toronto to a rural area in early 2019. I miss the office! But I’ve also been lucky enough to work with smart people that I like for my entire career as a salaryman.
