Click this: instructions to switch your browsers to the Google ‘web’ search.
I was going to write about this earlier in the week and didn’t, for whatever reason. I set it up on Sunday night I think, then throughout the week I kept seeing stories like this and this and realizing how glorious the Google “Web” search actually is.
Stupid name, but buried amongst ‘maps’, ‘images’, and ‘shopping’ at the top of your Google search results is ‘Web’ — which is amazing. It backs out all the ads, all the AI garbage and silly accordion q&a things, and simply gives you links to websites that match your search query. It’s like 2005 all over again, it’s perfect.
Hit the link. It’s got instructions for most browsers and OS’s (and the Chrome instructions work on Microsoft Edge too, I’ve been told).
