Turning brainwaves into therapeutics

I don’t know anything about the science behind these, but the neurowear  and Lumen videos (from the Unmute site) are cool and reminded me of a Toronto-based project called LUCID (instagram). I met the founders back in 2017 when they were just getting started, during a demo at (fka) Ryerson University.

The idea at the time was a kind of anti-anxiety therapy: a geodesic dome tent with lights and sounds that were driven by a headband that picked up your brainwaves, and provided an environment to soothe. Even though it was early days, it was compelling stuff.

They’re doing a lot more now and I’m excited to see where they get to.
